Beach Porto Istana and Capo Ceraso
The city of Olbia ends to the south with the promontory of Capo Ceraso at the base of which stands the beach of Porto Istana, facing the island of Tavolara.
The beach is formed by 4 inlets divided by small strips of pinkish granite rocks. The 4 bays are covered with white, soft, impalpable sand that gently slopes into the water of the Golfo Spurlatta. Behind the beach, there are small paths and walkways totally immersed in the vegetation.
If you also want to see the wild beaches of the promontory of Capo Ceraso, all you have to do is park your car and take a walk. The entire peninsula is delineated by reserved coves and inlets, some of which can be reached by car and some exclusively on foot or by sea.
Flat Olbia Near Beaches
Coral Beach
Costa Corallina Bay is right on the southern border between Olbia and Porto San Paolo. The beach is divided into several sections by small rocks and is inside a natural inlet where the entrance to the small, characteristic harbour of Costa Corallina is also located.
A picture-postcard bay, impalpable white sand, pastel blue-white sea, pink granite rocks with coloured veins, evergreen vegetation.
On the beach there are stretches of free beach and 'La Pizzichina' an equipped beach with umbrella service and risto bar. If you are in the area, you cannot miss it.
Beach Porto Taverna and Don Diego
The Porto Taverna beach has several entrances, the larger entrance being in the northern part of the beach, the smaller and more intimate entrance in the south.
White sand, blue sea, perfect for families. A long beach that is well known in the area and therefore quite busy, especially in the summer season. On the sandy shore, stretches of free beach alternate with stretches of equipped beach and bar-restaurants.
In the area behind the dunes there is a pond where you can take wonderful walks surrounded by nature. Walking along the wetland walkways, you can go bird watching and see flamingos, herons, egrets and stilt birds.
Nearby Porto Taverna, but certainly more private, is the quiet and uncrowded Punta Don Diego beach.
In front of the beach is an enchanting view of Porto Taverna and Cala Girgolu with the famous Sassi Piatti. The seabed slopes gently, making it a particularly suitable beach for children and families.
