Le corps du b\u00e2timent a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9rig\u00e9 \u00e0 diff\u00e9rentes p\u00e9riodes, avec au moins cinq phases de construction. \u00c0 l'origine, l'\u00e9glise \u00e9tait de petite taille, puis elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 agrandie avec deux paires d'arcs remarquables.<\/p>\n<p>Les murs d'enceinte avec l'abside et les piliers sont dat\u00e9s d'une construction autour de la seconde moiti\u00e9 du 11\u00e8me si\u00e8cle. La fa\u00e7ade, le toit et les parties lat\u00e9rales sont vraisemblablement dat\u00e9s du milieu du 12e La basilique de San Simplicio \u00e0 Olbia m\u00e9rite une visite lors d'un s\u00e9jour dans le nord-est de la Sardaigne. Au pied de l'autel, les reliques de San Simplicio d\u00e9couvertes au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 1600 lors de fouilles arch\u00e9ologiques dans la crypte de l'\u00e9glise sont conserv\u00e9es dans une ch\u00e2sse.
